JLSclarity (\Jewlz – kler’i-tee\) is Javis Lee Sneed (JLS), seeing clear; living life guided by the God of creation – secure in the truth of His salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
Born and raised in Massillon, OH, JLS grew up amazed by people – their differences, similarities and indifference; he witnessed their pride and prejudice guide their lives. He was independent – hardened by the hatred shown by his peers, but at the same time grounded by the love of his family. It was that love and the faithfulness of his grandparents that kept him in church where he accepted Christ at a young age.
As time passed, a move away from his grandparents took him away from church and into pleasing himself and others. In high school he dealt with the same prejudice, but this time he took the pride for himself and instead of pleasing God he did what was right in his own eyes.
Along the way, a love for music adapted into rapping as a way to express himself – progressing over the years into managing artists, songwriting, producing, booking shows and performing in the region. But what was missing was God’s purpose he was put on earth to fulfill; No matter what measure of “success” he reached doing it his way – he couldn’t stop thinking about God and a need for change in his life.…what was missing was God’s purpose he was put on earth to fulfill.
After rededicating his life to Christ in August 2007 and taking 2 solid years of studying the Bible and serving the Lord through ministry work, JLS is being led back to the studio to reach the youth with God’s Word. Using the web and social media to form strategic partnerships in ministry he’s praying that lives will be transformed by the clarity of the Gospel.

I first started writing this song in 2006, inspired by a person close to me who had made some very bad decisions in their life, after growing up around people who were making very bad decisions in their lives. Now in 2011, I have seen many more start down the same path, feeling hopeless amidst circumstances they think they are powerless to change. I believe that the cycle doesnt have to repeat itself. Although you cant stop the rain from fallin down, you have the opportunity to make choices that put you in a position to succeed, to “Get it Right”. The first step is to let go of the thought that you have to do it on your own. There is One Person you can call on Who will never let you down (Romans 10:13).
